The XV Lupin Conference of the International Association of Lupines (ILA) was held in Cochabamba, Bolivia, from 18 to 21 March 2019. The Local Organizing Committee was constituted by two important Bolivian institutions: the Centro Fitoecogenético de Pairumani and the Fundación PROINPA.. The Scientific Committee was composed of important entities and colleagues from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Italy, Peru, Poland, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
In the Andes Mountains (at more than 3,000 meters above sea level), the species Lupinus mutabilis, known as tarwi or chocho, is cultivated by small farmers. During the Conference there was a field visit to tour the tarwi crops, interact with the farmers and taste the Andean gastronomy.

El Comité Organizador Local estuvo constituido por dos importantes instituciones bolivianas: el Centro Fitoecogenético de Pairumani y la Fundación PROINPA. El Comité Científico estuvo integrado por importantes entidades y colegas de Alemania, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, España, Italia, Perú, Polonia, Portugal y el Reino Unido.
En la Cordillera de los Andes (a más de 3.000 msnm), la especie Lupinus mutabilis, conocida como tarwi o chocho, es cultivada por pequeños agricultores. Durante la Conferencia se realizó una visita de campo para recorrer los cultivos de tarwi, interactuar con los agricultores y probar la gastronomía andina.
